Stories along the oceans edge as seen by Francoise Teissier

featured image

If you consider the etymology of photography, it would read; drawing with light.
I’d say its more like painting with light.
Viewing the work of Francoise Teissier, I think you will too.
Slow shutter cam imagery within the mobile universe seems to be in no short supply these days.
Just recently we highlighted two who approach their long exposures in more abstract urban settings.
Francoise has her work set apart from others in that she paints moments often times pensive, most times tranquil.
John Singer Sargent often comes to mind when considering her paintings with light.

You can find her work @tessfra on IG or Flickr.

Lets turn our attention to Francoise to hear what she has to say about her work.

Original text:

Translation:

As a lover of all mediums of art from painting , sculpture to Photography – I am always searching for a medium to experiment. It’s been 7 years since my interest in mobile photography aside from a conventional manner . Immediately I’ve discovered the endless possibilities of mobile art via IG. Such one would deem impossible via a mobile device. It was a shock. I began mobile art simple using different apps with filters. Immediately I developed a passion for using slow shutter cam. This applications allows me to realize a dream – I believe these images approach the effects of painting more so then photography. Within time I found how I would approach this technique while I continue to experiment with new ways to use this application uniquely. I often thinking of taking Slow shutter when I take my photos. I take notice of moments that draw my eye via their silhouettes – lighting or environment. These are the elements I am ever aware of. Moments I perceive to reflect my vision. The post processing of my images are also important. With such I work diligently to present a refined piece. For this process the Apps I use are: Retouch et Leonardo. For supplementary effects I continue with: Icolorama, Stackables app, Mextures, snapseed, repix, ArtSet et DistressedFx. I am so glad that mobile art has been receiving recognition. In 2015 I was honored to be included within a collection of artist addressing the emergence of mobile arts at Sobonne University in Paris.

I would like to thank artist of whom have become friends of my heart, friends who have encouraged me to venture forward, Carlein @ilein and Alan @wallah.

Finally , I present a selection of images which highlight my approach via slow shutter cam and my post processing.
